I’m Angry At My Family For Sharing My Diagnosis, Which I Did Not Want Shared. Am I Overreacting?
They found out when brother saw my prescription. I signed HIPAA to not inform them when I was diagnosed
It is all about the stigmatization of having HIV, yes it's embarrassing and something not to be taken lightly. It hurts when it is used against you and could put separation between you and the people you trusted. Rise above it, never allowing it to define who you are as a good person. Don't wallow in the fallout. Let it settle and move on in life. You are a better person now that certain people know relieving you of that thought of trying to keep it within you to fester. Any reaction from you is to be expected. Aloha friend.
This is the law of who CAN'T share your medical information and who CAN share your medical information. Everyone thinks HIPAA is covered by anyone, everyone, and every place and it's NOT 🚫.

Other than that, nobody else is covered under HIPAA and they can share as little or as much as they want about your medical information.
And these places must follow the law as well:
These are the only places that can NOT 🚫 share your medical information, screenshot from the above federal government.
