My doctor that was new to me at the time. He really didn't know me well at all. The doctor I was seeing was an internal medical doctor. She left and he came on board. I was doing well in the beginning. I was was working everyday. Started running fever and night sweats . This is when labs were drawn repeatedly and nothing definite out of order. He then suggest HIV test . Went ahead with this . Test came back negative. He insisted it was a false negative. Over a period of time 2 others done. They came back negative. The 3 time it came back positive.
Can you clarify please? 3 negative hiv tests?
Thanks for sharing your input. Maybe my question was not clear. My PCP is the one that kept insisting that I come back after over 3 negative tests. He insisted that it could not be accurate. At this time I felt like he knew not enough about me to conclude with all these tests. He also referred me to an infectious disease doctor that after seeing, I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.
A caregiver may become convinced that they have HIV and persistently test for it until they receive a positive result, which would alleviate their fears by confirming the condition, subsequently shifting their mindset.
It may seem strange, but such individuals do exist among us. "Never have I ever" indeed.
