One Year Anniversary
Well it’s been almost one year since my life changed. 4 months not knowing what’s going on an 8 months testing positive and on biktarvy. A lot has changed and while I know that I’m officially positive my question is .the first month I had sex during those 4 months and came down with flu like symptoms I got a rapid antibody test from a clinic which turned out negative. Thanks 39 years you give me hope 🥹 I take my meds faithfully never missed a dose I’ve been an hour late sometimes but my doctor says that’s not a big deal
You were very smart as you caught the positive result as soon as possible and got yourself on medication right away. Too many times this disease isn't addressed until the person has lost their immune system and is in the hospital.
Brad3, I love your persistence in using us (myHIVteam) as a tool to get the answers you need for the questions you ask. Thank you for your patience and self-education of learning from those of us who respond to your queries. Well done.
Hi Brad, in 2021 I had flu like symptoms. When I went to my doc a couple months later, I asked him to run the hiv test. It came back +. He questioned me as to when I had the flu like symptoms and said that was when I seroconverted. I do believe my interaction with a + guy, happened just a couple months before the flu like symtoms. So my thought is, you were neg all those years before. I also like that you joined this group and ask the questions you need answers to. Many fine people on this site, just all trying to help one another out.
