I Believe All My HIV Tests Were Faked. Is That Possible?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Miami, FL

I have had multiple negative HIV tests over the years and I am sicker every day and no one helps me. I truly believe my tests were faked. I have tons of symptoms of HIV/AIDS and need urgent support please

I can’t imagine how multiple lab results could be faked. There are many things other than HIV that create similar symptoms. I hope your doctor has or will run a variety of tests, and find the source of your illness. Keep pushing for an answer, and please be open to a different answer than HIV. Best wishes

I'd go to a doctor and have them rule out HIV. Then find out what's really going on. Best of luck.

I don't know about where you are located, but here in Ontario (Canada) our public health units have access to a test known as the rapid test. It's a small prick to the finger to get 3 - 4 drops of blood, which get put into the little test kit. From there, there are 2 other chemicals that are added to the tester kit.

Once the last one is added and it all sinks to the bottom of the test kit, one or two little blue dots appear on the test kit. The first dot will always show, which indicates that the test has worked. This is considered a negative result. If however a second blue dot appears, this is the indicator of a positive test result.

The rapid tests are often a little more expensive than the traditional needle from a vein method, however there is one key difference... You get to see the result of the test before your very eyes within seconds, and for this reason, it's next to impossible to fake. The test is generally done right in front of you, so you get to see the whole thing unfold and know with certainty how the test reacted, and whether or not it produced a positive result.

With your traditional lab tests there is a certain amount of trust involved that the lab technician will report the results of the test accurately. Another option in which to get around this that exists here in Canada is the anonymous testing, which is offered in some communities. This puts you at an advantage since for laboratory purposes, you're just a random number, and no identifying information is attached to any of the paperwork that goes to the lab. You get a card with this number on it so that only you are able to get the result, and it ensures that everyone at every step of the process from the time the blood makes it to the lab, all the way to the end process where the nurse delivers your result has no way of identifying you. It is only when one of these tests comes back positive that your identity could be revealed. If the test is negative, its as though it never happened, as it's just some random number in the system, which will change with each test, even if the same person is tested multiple times.

You may be able to find or access information on where to find these resources though the resources section of this site. I hope that one of these options can provide the closure that you need one way or another..

I hope this helps.

Hello Miss @A myHIVteam Member

My question is, do you have HIV? despite all the negative test results. This is very concerning for you not having your own answer to this.

Have you been in to see your primary doctor, at least to discuss the medical issues?

Have you gotten a second opinion (different testing location) regarding your bloodwork test results indicating you are negative, yet you have symptoms relative to having AIDS.

I want to welcome you onto our team. We are here to support you.

Most of us here are not inclined to give medical advice and it is in your best interest to consult with your doctor on those issues or questions, regarding medical advice.

We can share our experiences that you may relate to. Put yourself out there and start building your team. I have included you onto mine.

As for HIV testing, what would it take to convince you that your HIV testing is not faux? It has been done for decades with high accuracy and I don't find anything out there in "informationland" to convince me otherwise. Would you risk not doing anything about it based on your belief that the test result is fake? I am hoping you make the right decision. Keep asking questions in the Q&A section, you will get some answers that may help you.
It is nice meeting you and welcome onto my team Aloha from Maui, John

Go to a disease control center in your area and get the test done there.
