I understand where you’re coming from. My husband and I both are products of Deep South Bible Belt families. It requires a degree of reprogramming to get that crap out of our heads. As for the isolation, I believe everyone needs someone in their lives. A friend, lover, family member, trusted neighbor… otherwise we spend too much time inside our own heads.
