Do You Think Your Vote Matters In Your Medical Treatment For HIV?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

With the elections around the corner, a lot of us are not aware of the services such as Ryan White Funding that is allocated by each state and trickles down to the cities but given by the federal government. These programs are valuable to a lot of us. How would your vote help in the continuation of these programs?

A bit of investigation is needed for the primaries, but the general elections are now simply. My conscience will not allow me to vote for any of today’s US conservatives. Regardless of what they say, they have clearly shown that they do not represent my basic interests or beliefs.

I think you should always vote, because your vote always matters. Knowing what a candidate supports is a good reason to vote for them. Too many things are getting taken away in today's world.

That is my number one priority when I'm at the ballot box. I go down the list of senators and Reps in my state and area and I look at their views on HIV funding, Social Security and all funding that pertains to people with disabilities. Unfortunately over the years there has been a shift on views of people who are aging and or disabled. It used to be both sides of the aisle were in favor of funding but in the last couple of years the right has found ways to vote against or not vote at all for these life saving programs.

I'm all about healthcare. So any candidates that are talking about restricting healthcare in any to anyone, will not get my vote. Ryan White Programs are designed to put the tools in our hands to protect ourselves at all times. We should have a right to our own bodies and anyone obstructed this needs to be voted out.

Vote, We need to do it.
We need term limits in the House of Representatives. and the Senate.
We need also to vote in. Competencies test for both houses..
