He Asked Me To Marry Him ,instead Of Saying Yes, I Told Him I Am HIV Positive

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

I met this guy, we dated for few months now he wants me to marry him. I had to tell him that i am HIV positive. He is having mix feelings rights now, because he doesn't know much about HIV . i told him, i am undetected. What are the chances of us being together, i don't want him to be infected. I love him. I want to be with him . is it possible for us to be together without, him getting infected?

The only thing I'd like to add to what I said before is that it's always good to use protection with a new partner because apart from HIV there are always other STI's you can catch without protection. Unless you both get tested regularly and trust each other (can you ever trust a partner outside your relationship?) Contentious I know. But I had to say it.

Give him brochures and find any services you could attend with him.
