Symtuza Once Daily Tablet

I saw my clinician yesterday for my 6 monthly HIV Consultation. He offered me the once daily HIV tablet Symtuza instead of my current 4 x Daily HIV Drugs. However, I told him I couldnt find any evidence online or elswhere that Symptuza would be potent enough, to keep me undetectable, bearing in mind I previously had total HIV drug resistance in 2003. I've been on symtuza for few yrs knick my numbers down low I was borderline aids I don't have any side effects. Just looking maybe switch find out in a week

Your concerns about switching to Symtuza are valid, especially given your history of drug resistance. Symtuza combines Darunavir, Cobicistat, Emtricitabine, and Tenofovir alafenamide, and while it is effective for many, resistance to two of its components could reduce its potency in your case. It's wise to research and discuss your options with your doctor, as you did. Staying on a regimen that has kept you undetectable since 2004 is a strong argument for caution. Always prioritize what feels safest for your health.
