That's a New York thing. Prior, Chicago had a several year waiting list for section 8 housing. And HIV housing had an extended waiting list. They only reason we have housing now is because the landlords are being "encouraged" to provide additional housing with government assistance. This isn't a normal thing here in Chicago. Read up on disability. I'd apply. But I wouldn't wait on it.
