Personally, my motivation is and always has been my family, especially my Grandchildren who I want to live long enough to experience milestones in their lives, even starting their own families making me a great grandfather.
After 39 years on this journey and with the tools and knowledge to conquer it, I have full motivation.
You derive good just by doing the right thing.

In 1995 I was hospitalized for 5.5 months with full blown AIDS. My doctor put me in home hospice. I was fed through a tube for about a year (TPN).
Needless to say it was the darkest part of my life. I don’t ever want to have to go through that again.
Cd4 was down to 15, viral load was through the roof.
I’ve been undetectable for going on 3 years with a CD4 of 1400.
I had all the OI..
CMV Retinitis made me blind in one eye and I need glasses for the other eye. I have stage 3 kidney failure. I live with some liver issues. My memory is messed up. Neuropathy is pretty bad some days.
In many ways, I wish I would have fallen asleep in death and not have to deal with all of this. However, many friends and relatives who love me, would’ve been hurt by that so I’m glad I didn’t.
So I take my meds as directed my cell phone alarm clock goes off and reminds me.
Good health to everyone
Ditto what Titoone said
I’m a responsible person who follows doctors advice
Honestly, all my life I have been very optimistic even after being diagnosed with this (although sometimes I have episodes of stress or depression) And I simply know how people can be when they know that a person has a disease like this and I know that there can be discrimination or exclusion towards people who suffer from these types of diseases, so I don't want to go through that, of being seen sick, that's why I always take my medication to try to avoid being sick or getting another disease. That's why taking my Retroviral treatment has become a habit and I always take it at the same time every day as it should be. After 5 years with this disease, I have simply made it a habit that I know I can't stop doing, like eating or bathing. Things that one can't stop doing daily.
