@A myHIVteam Member. You already have antibodies to HIV yourself. Testing HIV+ is a lab for the presence or absence of those antibodies. Rarely are they enough to keep HIV in check.

The evolution of our immune systems is based in diseases survived which otherwise killed large numbers of people. We just survived one of those events with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Susceptible people died in large numbers over a short period of time. Those survivors will produce offspring with other survivors who will have greater resistance to future coronavirus pandemics.

We can only hope for a cure. In the meantime, we can take better care of ourselves, become and maintain an undetectable status, and live life as if having HIV is like having hypertension. I have dismissed HIV as an inconvenience to me but at the same time take the meds that I know is making big pharma wealthier as more people are diagnosed. It's a control thing. It sucks but it is what it is.
