I would say that during a natural disaster, you may not have access to what you have stored @A myHIVteam Member. You may be away from home, and unable to return (fire, flood, earthquake, etc.). In the end, SAFETY in the short term matters more than missing doses. You will be able to resume dosing soon enough.

Any kind of disaster can strike at anytime anywhere. Either natural or man made disaster.

With tensions so high in the political arena and with climate change we can expect anything to happen at any time without notice.

Be ready: You can pack yourself a “Go Bag”. In a bag put in a change of clothes, some non perishable food supplies, fresh clean bottled water.

A transistor radio, extra batteries, a first aid kit, flashlight, and of course your HIV meds or any other meds that you need.

It’s a good idea to try to have a meeting place for any loved ones or special people in your life.

Have a plan in place.

@A myHIVteam Member. That is based in how the virus behaves, not the medication.

Each period the virus has to replicate, it produces many, many mutations. Meaning, it makes many mistakes that are predominantly lethal to the virus itself. Those mutations go nowhere.

But, with so many mutations there is a chance that one may confer an advantage. It's an incredible long shot, but over and over HIV has shown the ability to mutate around single regimens of antivirals.

Increasing the number of antivirals used in therapy makes finding a way around all of them impossibly difficult. Avoiding missed doses keeps it that way.❤️
