Is Anyone Using Amazon Pharmacy Mail Order?
Amazon has had an in store pharmacy for a while, but the mail order part seems new(?)
@A myHIVteam Member. The reason Walmart doesn't come up on my radar is that every other pharmacy is closer than the one at Walmart. CVS & Walgreen's are closest, followed by Fry's (Kroger) & Food City (Basha's). Truth is, in a small town nothing is all that far away. CVS hours are 10-6pm, closed on weekends! The most restrictive hours since the 1950s. Crazy, and all of our pharmacies are closed for lunch 1:30-2:00pm.
I get all my scripts from Walmart pharmacy. I can talk to a real human there face to face.
I have to use three different pharmacies to get my meds, four if you include methadone. CVS for the bulk, Banner Specialty for Biktarvy, El Rio for Victoza, BAC for methadone. I'm not sure anyone sees all of my meds at once, like the old pharmacy days.
@A myHIVteam Member. I have had good CVS (Caremark, Specialty) and bad CVS, the two in town (one in Target) that have long lines, haggard clerks, and loaner pharmacists. It is impossible for them to recognize you as anything but a familiar face no matter how long you have been a customer (20 years).
I have had currant pharmacy as my med supplier over 10 years and love them .
Ashley my patient care coordinator calls or texts me about a week before the current supply is due to run out and we discuss if any thing has been changed and them not being made aware of it so they can call my id PCP ( or my beloved rn of my id PCP ) and verify any changes before the next order is shoppy out by UPS so usually I have my new med supplies week in advance of the current one running out :)
I just realized an error in my original post. I was thinking of COSTCO. COSTCO has had an in house pharmacy. For AMAZON, it's all new.
