Should I First Ask People To Be On myHIVteam Before Adding Them?

Just curious, I always ask people 2 be on myHIVteam. Is that what everyone does on this site? Or, do they just push the + sign ?

When someone adds me to their team, I check out their profile. As long as they have shared their story and have uploaded a photo, I click the plus sign and add them to my team.
