The cold bothers me not my HIV 🌞

Luckily... I'm not bothered. However, I do wear long pants sooner than I used to. In the past... it would have to be below freezing for at least a week before I put away the cargo shorts.

I was infected in mid 80s so did not get official diagnosis until 1994 with 68 tcells in March and by the time protease inhibitors available in 1997 I had less than 14 . I caught a bad flu in 1997. The kind of flu where your eyes hurt just moving them. I have never had another flu or even a simple cold since. That is almost 27 years of not catching the common cold.
Was wondering if any other LTS'ers experienced same thing, not catching common cold or flu for so long.
As far as the cold weather affecting me more, the answer to that is definitely not. Hot or cold weather. I am always in a state of inflammation and as I am aging my arthritis is getting worse. Moving out to a drier climate, west coast from east coast 10+ years ago, has definately helped. Any humid weather triggers my arthritis + inflammation.
But just " cold" weather IMO doesn't affect me more because of having virus.
Although, I've had this virus such a long time, I am so used to the way I feel for so long that perhaps an irregular feeling is a normal feeling for me. Been living with hiv so long , have nothing to compare against.

🌬❄️For me the ☃️cold☃️ is downright debilitating due to the effects of osteoporosis-"everywhere" caused by both medication & HIV as well as other "bone" issues.
For a better "quality of life" after 30 yrs of suffering, i had decided to leave my family & friends behind in upstate N.Y. for Florida "The Sunshine State" & it has been helpful physically however; it has been difficult to not have my large family when I've needed them most. Ironically, we've had a few "cold snaps" here & it was rough although there was no snow, etc. my flashbacks were real!😊
My thoughts & prayers are with those "like me" getting through the winter season.
God bless you all & stay warm!🌞
Thank you for letting me share.♥️

I don't care for the cold, so I moved to Florida from New Jersey. I miss being close to my family, so when I visit, I get enough of Cold during winter Holidays.
