I Want To Find Someone To Love Me. Why Is It So Difficult?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
DFW Airport, TX

It's been hard to find someone for a relationship. I still think about the stigma (as I've heard it myself) on serodiscordants. And I don't know anyone personally who has HIV (meaning, in my case, it's more difficult).

I think the best way to meet someone, is to throw yourself into group activities, like volunteering, book clubs, HIV support group, or anything that have people that have a common interest with you, give it some time, make some friends, and maybe you will meet someone there, or through the people you meet there. Do not jump at the first person that comes alone, but if someone catches your eyes, in more than just a physical way, maybe try to see where it goes.

I agree with Pooh1964, give of yourself to others. You will meet the right person but, if you haven’t already, learn to love yourself first.

I’ve been in a serodiscordant relationship for 14 years. However, it’s about you and the other person and not about status.
