I totally agree. Back then we were all scared and uninformed. Through education, support, and love we are living better.

I was diagnosed in June 2011 and started treatment in August 2011. At first, I was scared and didn't really care whether I lived or died. To me, HIV was a death sentence so, I gave up. But, through positive reinforcement through family, friends and Dr's, my quality of life has improved exponentially. I live a more positive life by educating others whom I come in contact with and just trying to be as positive as possible to others around me in my community. I am currently undetectable and have been for over 10 years. I have found HIV is NOT a death sentence unless you make it that way.

I started treatment in 1996 so it is totally different from now. My quality of life is good now for my age, 69 in November.
