What If You're HIV Neg Again?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

So the 2nd person to be cured / cleared of HIV made quite a headline...

If that person is you, what would be the first thing that you'd do, and why?

Frankly im going to speak to my dr about this. I would love the opportunity to be neg again. I didnt have a choice in getting this disease. It was forced on me through rape. My lifes goal now and forever is to educate people and help young people facing this. I dont know where i would be without my therapist. I want to be the shoulder that they can lean on.

Depending on how I was cured of HIV, I'd either go on Prep or not...and I'd toss my inhibitions away having the time of my life...and enjoy it.

I think that the news inspires to keep looking for a cure. One case in many is a miracle. To me, two or more cases makes it a breakthrough in science. I can equally balance both aspects of both Patients who are undetectable and in remission without antiviriaoal meds. It means endless ripples of hope now.
