Future Video Chats.

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Edmore, MI

1) Who would like to have a Video chat every Sunday around 2 PM Eastern time (New York time)
2) What platform would you prefer the video chat to be on? Google Duo, Zoom, Skype, etc
We usually used Zoom, but the account it was under expired. We did a Google Duo and it didn't have a way to have everyone put their names on the screen. I have never used Skype or any other video chat sites. So we need to agree on a platform that we can use.
3) I can get the video chat up, and running for… read more

Anyone A Member Of A Support Group?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Cherryville, NC

Other than this forum, are any of you actively a member of any local support groups in your area?

A few years back, I was. But, I was not getting what I thought I should be receiving from the group. I did speak with the Leaders to voice my desire for the agenda. I also gave it a good run of 2 years of Membership. The Group Leaders took the approach of Education instead of seeking Members Experiences and did not promote any group activities. Although they were very informative meetings, I… read more

Twenty Years: Remembering 9/11

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Edmore, MI

It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The milestone anniversary brings back a lot of memories as we remember the lives lost, the heroes who saved thousands of people, and how our way of life has changed since then.

Most of us, of a certain age, can remember where we were when the attacks happened and everything about that day. Whether we were directly impacted by the tragedy or not, it still affects us in lingering ways.

Tomorrow, we remember the attacks… read more

Re: Masking For Immune Compromised Vaccinated Individuals:

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Seattle, WA

Yesterday the CDC suggested all individuals unvaccinated or not wear masks indoors, especially in lower vaccinated states. I saw my Hematologist yesterday and he said he is advising immune compromised people like ourselves and his Cancer patients to mask up just like pre vaccination days. He suggested wearing a N-95 mask which offers the best protection. They are available on Amazon now, but there may be a run on them depending on what happens with the increasing cases and variations of the… read more

Finally Some Understandable Guidelines For Those With HIV Who Have Been Vaccinated:

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Seattle, WA

First of all I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. I came across a very informative long article published by Michigan Health which clearly lays out what immune compromised individuals should do after being vaccinated. The takeaway is to follow the same guidelines we were following before we were compromised. Stay masked, social distance, and avoid large crowds plus more. The CDC gave the all clear guidelines to those who got the vaccine who are healthy. But according to this… read more

@A myHIVteam Member I had a complete physical yesterday and my care team said that because my CD 4 was above 1000 I didn't have to wear a mask but in crowds they still suggested that I wear one!

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

For Seniors On Social Security Income, Veterans And Disabled Citizens, Have You Received The Current Stimulus Check?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Geneva, IL

Like myself who have been disabled due to AIDS, I have yet to receive this current check. I received the two last prior checks directly but this third one seems, we are the last to receive it. After inquiry and calls to my Senator and House Representative, I think we have an answer from the Social Security Administration regarding our checks. I have attached the following article stating that SSA released the file to the IRS with all the information, for those of us, who are entitled to the… read more
