I think rushing into this operation would be a bad idea. My General Practitioner has referred me to the Hernia Team, and none of my Doctors think that my Hernia is urgent, otherwise they would have fastracked my case. In addition to this, you must consider the risks of early Surgery. Hernia Surgery can leave you with scar tissue and adhesions and small bowel obstruction post Surgery. This is a serious life threatening side effect post Hernia Surgery. Bearing all the factors in mind I will wait my turn on the free health care waiting list, but I will still be speaking to my two HIV Doctors on February 24th and February 27th for their views on my Hernia. They have the power to fast track my case if they think it's urgent. I'm not insured for private medicine, so I will stick to the free State System for the moment. @A myHIVteam Member. If I had insurance of course I would be going for private medicine which is much faster. But most people in the UK don't have private medicine insurance, as UK Citizens are provided with free State health care.

I understand that my friend but like I said at least he'll be able to tell you if you need it done sooner than later but the choice is yours. You know how I stand on medical procedures I don't wait I'm not a reactive person I'm a proactive person.

I can also ask my HIV consultant to fast track me on the free service if he agrees to. Im speaking to him on 28th of February to see if he can fast track my case. Gabriel good point. I will check what the consulation fee includes.
