Hand and foot swelling in women can have many causes, including:
Edema
A buildup of fluid in the body's tissues, often caused by:
Sitting or standing for too long
Eating too much salty food
Pregnancy
Taking certain medications, such as blood pressure medicines, contraceptive pills, antidepressants, and steroids
Injuries
An injury to the hand can cause it to swell.
Skin and toenail problems
As people age, their skin thins and becomes more vulnerable to cuts and infections. Ingrown toenails can also cause swelling.
Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis can cause swelling in the small joints of the hands and feet.
Liver or kidney problems
Chronic liver disease can cause fluid to build up in the legs and abdomen. Kidney disease can cause swelling in the lower extremities, along with other symptoms.
Other causes of hand and foot swelling include: Infections, Physical inactivity, Hot temperatures, Hormone changes, and Alcohol.

@A myHIVteam Member here is some more information I found.
Yes, women can get gout. While gout is more common in men, women are not immune to the condition.
The risk of gout in women increases after menopause, when estrogen levels decline. This is because estrogen helps regulate uric acid levels, and without it, uric acid levels can rise and lead to gout.
Other factors that can increase the risk of gout in women include:
Obesity
High blood pressure
Kidney disease
Certain medications, such as diuretics and aspirin
Family history of gout
If you are a woman experiencing symptoms of gout, such as joint pain, swelling, and redness, it is important to see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
