No, but I do have osteoporosis and osteopenia from HIV meds. I've been taking alendronate sodium for about 3 years now. I am due for my DEXA scan in December. Fingers crossed my bone density has improved and I can stop the alendronate.🤞

I am curious how well this has been studied. When I Google HIV and bone loss, that loss seems to be attributed to ARVs rather than HIV itself.

I have a visit with my HIV doc coming up a couple weeks from now, I'll ask him when I see him.

Bone loss here, and bleeding gums as I age; from even before I was infected with HIV. Not necessarily connected to our infection.

I do have extensive bone loss and I have lost several teeth unfortunately. I've taken calcium supplements from now on hoping to keep what I have left. See if you qualify for a bridge because implants are extremely expensive and not always effective. Good luck my friend.
