I think we have all our bases covered We have antivirals we have clinical trials we have medication for HIV negative people and medications for HIV positive people I think the next strategy would be to work with the world global infectious disease centers and come out with a cure

I think we need more PLWH representation in higher decision making positions, more mental health services with emphasis on frequent contact, an educational overhaul teaching young people about HIV and other diseases with an emphasis on ending stigma, funding to encourage Drs to become ID docs and certifications specifically for ID nurses, PAs, and the like that can provide the same services as ID docs for better coverage and choice for PLWH.

More newer therapies are needed. Of course a national platform for a cure should be number 1. However I’m beginning to think that’s not possible at least in the near future. While ARV medications are highly effective there is the hidden HIV that is in our bodies that are causing immune inflammation and who knows what else.i think it’s time for scientists to not just go after HIV in the blood which is only from what I understand is 5% of The virus that ARVs are controlling. The latent virus is definitely doing something in our bodies . It’s time doctors go after the host cells with newer treatments. From what I understand that is already being looked at. And could be a turning point for a cure. There still so much we don’t know about the long term effects of this virus.
