My HIV Dr Says The Meds Aren't What's Making Me Feel So Bad! And My PC And Every Specialist I've Been To Just Pawns Me Back To Her.

I'm gaslite from ever direction...I, in the last year(been on meds 4 years) have developed muscle weakness to the point my legs feel like they weigh 200 pounds each, nausea and vomiting 3 to 4 times a week, can't stand heat of any kind not even a warm shower (takes my breath immediately), light sensitivity to the point of blindness if I don't wear dark glasses. My Biktarvi pill makes me tired now; especially the 10 or so hours after I take it while my body absorbs it. Im going to start taking it right before bed to see if that helps Im on a statin as well that makes me tired too. My hiv specialist doesnt listen when I say I am sleeping an hour and a half more every single day and refers me right back to my pcp . My pcp refers me back to my specialist LOL

My best advice is to shop around for better Doctors. The ones that you mentioned aren't listening to you. Is there an AIDS foundation near by? They might have better recommendations for who to see. I wish that I could help more. You are not alone. I hear you and believe you. It is scary- very scary at times, but we are here and in the same boat. You are not alone!

Keep asking questions
Get the opinion of other Drs.
Write down every symptom, date,time and what your doing when it hits you.Get blood work for everything under the sun

@A myHIVteam Member Try to watch your carbs. Including some liquors like wine. That will help with the nausea. Carbs stay in your system longer and ferment in your gut. Which cause you to get sick. and give you that bloated feeling. Also, sometimes raw fruit isn't your friend. Last week I was so sick. I was begging to vomit.
