Curious On Anyone’s Experiences With Zoloft.

I’m already on welbutrin but on my last visit during a stressful work week my dr thought I seemed depressed and suggested adding something or talking to someone. I don’t think talking to anyone will make difference with my current job situation so I did agree to the additional meds, but after reading more on it, I don’t think I want to take it. Thanks in advance for any opinions or experiences.

Unless you have had previous problems with SSRI antidepressants, I would say Zoloft (sertraline) is not difficult to use. That said, Wellbutrin is pretty stimulating. You might do better with Cymbalta (duloxetine) which is an SNSRI, boosting both serotonin and norepinephrine. Wellbutrin bumps dopamine, and is too stimulating for some patients (me). I associate serotonin with anxiety, and norepinephrine with depression. How these medications work is still unclear. I have taken many of them, to include the tricyclics. Good Luck. Starting and stopping meds does little to make progress. You need at least a 1-3 month commitment. Be Well. @A myHIVteam Member.
