It sounds like you're experiencing some uncomfortable skin symptoms. While dry skin and itching can be caused by various factors, including environmental conditions or skin irritations, the sensation of pins in the hands and feet might be related to peripheral neuropathy. In the context of HIV, peripheral neuropathy can sometimes occur due to the virus itself or as a side effect of certain HIV medications.

For instance, Norvir (Ritonavir), a medication used in HIV treatment, lists sensations of tingling or numbness in the hands, feet, or mouth as potential side effects. It's important to discuss these symptoms with your healthcare provider. They can help determine the cause and recommend appropriate treatments, which may include adjusting your medication regimen or prescribing treatments to alleviate the symptoms.

Remember, managing side effects is a crucial part of living well with HIV, and your healthcare team is there to support you through these challenges.

@A myHIVteam Member. Maybe a corticosteroid cream or ointment would help(?) You could apply it to your hands and feet, then lightly to your face. It might help reduce inflammation, and alleviate discomfort.
