Merry Christmas?
This is my first Christmas being newly diagnosed. It’s Been a long 6 months and just want to thank everyone on here for your support. While we all will not agree on certain topics. I really appreciate your opinions.whatever holiday you celebrate I wish everyone a great holiday and look forward to great conversations in the new year. My question is simple does it get easier?
It really does. But that first year was pretty tough for me, everything was about HIV. Lots of doc appointments and my brain was 100% on hiv all the time. Now, 15 years later, it’s a small part of who I am. Be patient and kind with yourself, it’s defined a journey. ❤️
I would not use the word easier but you will adapt. I was diagnosed in 2006 while I was pregnant and my baby was born negative, he'sa healthy16 yearsoldteenager, hope that help your expectations.
Have a Merry Christmas!
Yes, Brad just one day at a time. And never miss a dose of your meds.
By missing a dose your body will become immune to the medication.
I can't take a single pill or injection because of my missing doses over the years and my body building up a resistance to many of the ingredients that make up the single dose or injection.
I take 3 pills at night and have been non detectable for over 8 years. I've rebuilt my entire immune system 3 different times from O.
Please 🙏 stay on your meds. And please try and never miss a dose. And NEVER double up if you do miss a dose.
And always reach out when things are weighing you down.
Feel lucky! AZT was my first medication. It made me sick but the doctor refused to listen.
Hang in there.
Sunshine and lollipops are on the other side.
Merry Christmas Brad. I hope it went well.for you. Hugs
Brad, this is my second Christmas since I was diagnosed. I suppose maybe it’s gotten a little easier. All we can do is keep on keeping on.
Merry Christmas.
