I went this morning and had it done! I also talked to my pharmacist whose amazing and he gave me some piece of mind and told me to breathe I should be fine so fingers crossed. I really appreciate all this support and very glad all my google searches about this had me find this community. Really nice to finally have people who can relate and not judge me. Thank you

My 4 hiv drugs are taken 4 times daily, 12 noon 2pm 10pm and 1am. I can be as late as I wish in taking them, as there is much more forgiveness in a twice or four times daily regime. Twice or four times daily drugs stay in the Blood for much longer than once daily drugs, thus preventing drug resistance. I did try the once daily Biktary, but it didnt agree with me and made me very ill, so I reverted back to my old 4 times daily regime which has minimal side effects

The UTI that you had can make you very unwell. So its not your fault that you missed a few doses of Biktarvy. Hopefully with the very few doses you missed, youll probably be fine. But its very important in the future not to miss doses, as missing too many doses can allow the HIV virus to escape and replicate. It sounds to me that HIV is still very stigmatised in the United States and I can understand the effect this must have. In the UK no one really cares if you have HIV or not.

You’ll be fine. Just focus on doing better, but don’t worry about what’s done. Always be honest with your doctor about missing. They need to know. I miss sometimes too.
