We Know U=U. Now Low Level DETECTABLE=UNTRANSMITTABLE.
Well except for the United States as usual who ALWAYS lags behind.
You're hearing it here first:
Low level DETECTABLE now equals UNTRANSMITTABLE.

I knew it! I knew it back in the 1990s. They did studies on sero discordant married couples, and showed viral loads lower than 2500 were not transmitting the virus. It mattered to me because I was in a sero discordant relationship, and my viral load was consistently around 1000. My doctor was nonplused. My relationship didn't survive the decade (1987-99). Not that it would have mattered.
@A myHIVteam Member. I hope it just turns down the paranoia that every infected person has the virus ready to leap into an intimate partner. It's not nearly as infectious as Hep B, and we don't walk around terrified of Hep B. The distortion of HIV is just that, it shouldn't make or break relationships.
Yaaaaas!
Mine has always been under 1000, but detectable. I have asked my Dr about it and he basically told me not to worry about it. it is just how the virus is for me on meds. Glad to hear that I am suppressed and therefore undetectable. I always worried that I could not get to the "undetectable" phase.
My Dr. told me yesterday that my CD4 was high and keep up the good work!
