I found you have to stay out of bars ,take the care of yourself that you can . An put yourself out there , find groups for elderly gays. And hope for the best.

Being gay and alone in your senior years is difficult. It's almost like being gay is a young mans world. Look at Grindr, 99% of the guys on there are in their 20's and other sites for dating are designed for senior men are merely sex sites with people way out of the country. I want a relationship more than mere sex which scratches an itch. So what do we do simply go back in the closet and wait till someone knows someone and sets you up with a "pity" connection.

I’m 59, will be 60 in August. Depends on whether or not you are already partnered. As life gets more complicated with age, it gets harder to accommodate someone into an ongoing life. Partnered, you have already made those accommodations. My partner is 87. I will be single again in later life. I know about partnership. Living alone will be a new experience.

I do agree. However, at that age, you would think most would peel away the drama and issues that tend to keep one shut off from the opportunities of creating a healthy relationship. I may taking this conversation another direction, but as far as HIV, it is a part of us. It doesn't own us. HIV can not be the crutch that keeps us from creating a healthy and loving relationship. There will be rejections from most, because of the lack of knowledge of HIV. They'd rather turn the other way than to embrace the beauty of the person. Those type of folks, we do not NEED in our lives.
