I wouldn't be surprised if so. HIV itself increases inflammation in the body and arthritis is pain from joint inflammation. This includes those who have an undetectable viral load and a safe CD4 count.
As for how the meds affect it, specifically, I couldn't say because I don't know what med you're on. Each Antiretroviral drug class affects your body in different ways

Yeah.. u bet it causes arthritis.. brittle bone.. highbloodpressure and high colisteral.. as well as definitive back desease and renal failure failure.. I'll stop there stop there so u wont know... eats your Brain!

I believe the hiv meds affects all/some conditions of our bodies. I've gone thru several meds for arthritis but too many side effects so now I'm headed for the needle to get some relief. I'm currently taking viktarvy & been positive for 25 years. Good luck to all.
