Yes it does match up with the kinsey scale. I've always believed bisexual were being undercounted.
By the way here is a previous survey from 2021 that shows a majority of lgbtq+ are bi.

It should be noted that the majority of bisexuals are women but I'm guessing that has time goes on more and more males will identify as bisexual. After all sexual researchers had to invent the label msm (men who have sex with men) because a lot men's sexual behavior did not match up with their actions.
I bet if that was included the percentage would be even higher.

This country's gay population, outside of cities that are large enough to have more than one gay bar, is still very under counted. Being gay or even thought of as gay, is still a very dangerous proposition to be in. Gay people are surrounded by, and raised in, a very anti-gay mind set. The old "self loathing" gay persona is still alive and well. This leads most gays to stay in the closet. It also leads to a large segment to adopt a false bi sexual label, a "well I'm less gay than you" claim that soothes some of the guilty feelings.
