This is interesting to me. I am glad that people are having good results with metformin. That was not my experience. I had an adverse reaction, and was told to keep taking it for 3 weeks and it would pass. After 2 weeks I wound up in the hospital with severe dehydration. With that I was taken off the medicine.

I just started metformin 2 months ago and with proper diet and exercise, I have seen eight pounds go bye bye. Also for the first time in years since chemo, my stomach issues have resolved. This has been one drug that has done more for the greater good for my metabulism

Thanks for posting this. I was/am pre-diabetic...was that way before starting ART 3 years ago, which quickly added another 30 pounds to my belly. I see my ID MD next month and intend to ask her about metformin...she's been wanting to get me on diabetic meds anyway, so it might help. May help in other ways as well.
