Are You Or Are You Not Getting Vaccinated?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

There are some people who are not willing to get vaccinated because of the unknown
Do you know where to pre-register for it? Here is a link https://vams.cdc.gov/vaccineportal/s/pre-regist...🔗 This only applies for those living in the United States.
1- Why are you getting it?

2- Why aren't you getting it?

I will provide my answer now since I initiated this question
I am getting vaccinated because it is the right thing to do for myself. How can I go on not being able to come and visit with… read more

Yes I’m getting the vaccine, in fact I’ve got an appointment next Tuesday.
I trust the science behind it and whatever possible risk there might be taking it is far less than the risk of not taking it.
I made a visual aid to express this.

I already got my first dose of Moderna on 2/26 at Walmart and I’m already scheduled for my second dose on 3/26. I already survived HIV through medication... how could I ignore a Covid vaccine and risk death again?

Hello Allan @A myHIVteam Member
That was silly of me, the oxymoron. If I don't vaccinate, I would most likely die from the corona virus and not HIV.
I am happy things are finally getting sorted with vaccinations here. I was beginning to lose hope. I agree. I am making an informed decision to get jabbed. What do we have to lose? Everything is a risk no matter.
Take care and Aloha!

Sorry, had to chuckle - you wouldn’t be going on visiting if you died failing to vaccinate, you’d be dead. Perfect oxymoron.
But good on you for raising the question. I am due to get my second shot later this month, I had it as all the evidence I’ve read and seen has shown me that the pro’s really do outweigh the con’s. If I were to catch it, I know my body isn’t as able to shake it off, I need to give myself a fighting chance. I can’t wait for lockdown and shielding to end, it’s been pretty lonely holed up alone the last 6 months, if having a jab or two will make me feel easier walking outside without fear of catching it, it’s a small price to pay.
