We were planning a west coast family vacation to visit the theme parks, rent an RV, and visit California, Nevada, Arizona. We always enjoyed visiting Southern California for family vacations since there are a lot of things to do that we don't have in Hawaii, especially the theme parks, and the huge parks to go hiking.
Our plans have been shelved perhaps for the next 2 or 3 years. We now enjoy what other visitors come to Hawaii for of which we took for granted.

As a church/theatre musician/performer, nearly EVERYTHING I/we had planned has either been cancelled or gone virtual. So life sort of goes on. But I REALLY miss the face-to-face interactions, worship, gathering to read, sing, work on material, see performances. A WHOLE SUMMER SEASON of theater here on Cape Cod has been CANCELLED! That involves hundreds of my friends and colleagues. We see each other's shows, cheer each on, talk theater "shop" every chance we get. Facebook is a lifesaver for many of us. It's a major vehicle for spreading the word about virtual opportunities both to witness and to entertain. Most of the people I interact with have found OTHER WAYS to keep doing what it is they do that attaches meaning to life. I can look back to the day when we DID NOT HAVE all the electronic means of connection. THIS would have been MIND BOGGLING then. Happy Memorial Day.

Evelyn if you don't mind me interjecting. I was raised a devoutt Catholic going to all private schools from day one. My belief in God is first and foremost. Having said that though, being logical smart and not playing God ourselves is vital to our survival on this planet. Wash your hands listen to your doctors take your meds and continue to do the right thing. Please don't use God as an excuse not to safeguard your health.. Much love.. ❤️❤️

Many events that I volunteer for have been canceled and I am concerned about how our charity will fare when the dust settles. People simply will not be in a position to offer support like before. The important thing is to take care of the most vulnerabl, especially those who are seniors or living paycheck to paycheck without any additional income.
