All politics aside, sinse a child in my culture being South American, we value our elderly. . We put them on a pedestal because they are symbols of history ,intelligence
and authority. I don't understand why in this particular country. Unlike say for example, Asia , where they also take care of their elderly. Here, we do not put our parents and grandparents at the same level of respect that we do to our children. He may be old, but he's a very wise man.
