I Don't Want To Sound Rude Or Ugly But Hiv Is Mainly A Male Disease. I'm A Female There Is No Group Therapy For Women Only Men.

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Decatur, AL

I don't understand since there is no women's group. Why can't they just have a group of both. I feel that's wrong to help the men and leave out the women. I would love to talk to someone in a group. I've never done that in my 8 years of being hiv positive. I apologize if I offended anyone. I'm not trying to. I just want to understand because we all need some help and advice. Meeting other ppl like myself.

How Did You Find Out You Were HIV+? Did You Have The Appropriate Support And Resources After That Diagnosis?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Nashua, NH

For me, I remember I was out for a walk and my cellphone went off. It was my primary care doctor at the time. All she said was "The test results came back positive" - that was it. That was the entire conversation because she hung up on me.

There was no follow-up, I was not given the resources I needed, wasn't directed to my local ASO, wasn't referred to an ID doctor, I was left to my own devices and most importantly I was left alone. I always wondered if I was directed to an ID doctor or my… read more

Copays

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Fall River, MA

I am not familiar with healthcare in the US. I have insurance through my employer and my income makes me not elegible for most assitance programs. My Biktarvy copays are almost $3K per bottle and I already exhusted the Gilead cupon and about to do the same with the patient adovace foundation. I do not know what other option(s) I have. Does anyone have a similar situation?

A myHIVteam Member

See if your insurance has a mail order option. My copay went from over $1,000 a month to $90 for three months.

Hi Everyone, Has Anyone Experienced Any Issues With Using The Gilead Advancing Access CoPay Assistance Program? CVS Illegal Discrimnation?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
San Jose, CA

I have been using the card and the program since I was diagnosed in 2018, and I have never had any problems with the program covering my Co-Pays or my Out-of-Pocket costs for my Biktarvy RX. The Pharmacy has always entered the Gilead Program information in their system as a secondary benefit with no issues. Yesterday, I used a CVS Pharmacy location as I needed my medication sooner than when my normal Pharmacy would have it back in stock. The CVS Pharmacy Tech told me that my Co-Pay benefit… read more
