Promises Promises
This is for anyone but especially the older ones who’ve been living with HIV for a long time . How many times have you heard a cure is just around the corner or a vaccine is promising. And will be available soon. I love the latest news on HIV development but get disappointed every time they say a cure is on the horizon. If you could take an educated guess on when a cure or vaccine will be available what is your time frame.im 58 so im saying i will drop dead before a cure or vaccine. 😵💫😵💫🙄🙃
@A myHIVteam Member. You already have antibodies to HIV yourself. Testing HIV+ is a lab for the presence or absence of those antibodies. Rarely are they enough to keep HIV in check.

Cure Or No Cure

A Cure Is Slipping Away
The 2024 international conference on AIDS was bleak to say the least. It ended last week and was disappointing. I truly believe now that a cure of any kind will not happen in my lifetime and I’m sad. One of the promising things i hoped for was the CRISPR gene editing therapy which was a total failure. The first human trial of EPT-101 showed that all participants who were in this trial ,then stopped there ARV medications mainly biktarvy and dovato .showed that there viral load after only a few… read more

Having Hiv Early In Life Or Later
Having been newly infected later in life I’m in my fifties I ponder this question. Lets say that progress has stopped on better hiv treatments or cures and this is all we got till we die.is it better to be older an newly infected and have to take meds for only lets say 25 years and die from it or natural causes or to have been newly infected at an early age let’s say in your twenties and have to take hiv meds for 60 years.i bring this up for this reason . because even with the advances in… read more
